Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price range of your wedding dresses?
For an order-able gown (meaning we are ordering a brand new dress in your size, preferred color and with any customization you would like), our collection ranges from $1500 - $4500 with our average price around $3000. We also offer off the rack options, which means you are purchasing a sample gown to take home with you that same day. These dresses are discounted from the original ordering price and will range from $1000 - $2500.

When should I book my appointment?
Our appointment times can book up a few weeks in advance, so plan ahead in order to get the date and time that works best for you and your bride tribe! We recommend wedding dress shopping 12-18 months before the big day.

Is there parking available?
Yes! There is ample surface parking in the lot on the west side of our building. Use promo code “BR1D3” for a discount on your 3-hour parking.

How far in advance should I order my wedding dress?
We recommend ordering your dress at least 10 months prior to your wedding, but the sooner, the better! Checking your gown off your list is a big step in your planning process and helps set the tone for other details. Most of our gowns take 5-7 months to arrive after they are ordered plus you’ll want to plan for an additional 3 month lead time for alterations. Are you already under 10 months? Don’t sweat it! We have rush options + sample gowns available!

How long is my appointment?
Our Bridal Styling and Bridal Styling Plus Appointments are 90 minutes long. This allows for plenty of time to shop our curated collection, try on a variety of styles, and say yes with a celebratory toast and confetti pop! Want more time with us? Book a Strike Exclusive Appointment instead to enjoy the entire shop to yourself for a full three hours!

Who should I bring to my appointment?
Saying yes to your dress is a big decision and we understand the urge to bring your whole hype squad with you. However, a large group means more opinions and can be very overwhelming and confusing for you! We recommend keeping your group under 4 and bringing only the people whose opinions matter most to you. Don’t need anyone else’s opinion? That’s great too! Shopping alone makes it easy for you to focus on what you truly want and don’t worry, your stylist will be there to celebrate with you after finding “the one”!

What should I bring to my appointment?
An open mind, photos of style inspiration, and nude undergarments you feel confident in. We will provide the rest! Check out our Pre-Appointment Guide for more details on how to prepare for your appointment with us.

What is the difference between Bridal Styling and Bridal Styling Plus Appointments?
Each of our bridal appointment types have been specially crafted with you in mind! We offer options that allow you to choose the best fit for you and cater to your specific needs. Our Bridal Styling Appointment is our standard 90 minute bridal gown shopping experience with a personal stylist and your own private fitting room and viewing area for up to 4 guests. Want a little upgrade? Select Bridal Styling Plus to also include two carafes of our famous Strike Signature Drink and 12 macaroons from Greige Patisserie. We will also reserve our largest bridal suite that accommodates up to 6 guests!

Click the book your appointment tab to learn more about each personalized experience. A celebratory toast and confetti pop after you find “the one” is included complimentary with all of our bridal appointments!

What sizes do your gowns come in?
Our gowns are available in a variety of sizes, with most available to order in sizes 0-28. We believe every bride should have the same unforgettable experience with a wide range of options to try on regardless of size! This is why in the shop, we have gowns to try on from sizes 4 to 24 with a majority sampled in sizes 8-14. Our exclusively plus size sister shop, Rare Bridal Bar, offers the largest selection of plus size gowns to try on in Wisconsin!

Do you offer alterations?
We do not offer in house alterations, but have highly experienced seamstresses in the area we will refer you to. Working with a professionally trained seamstress is extremely important to tailor your gown to your body and create that perfect fit. Our stylists will be able to answer all of your alterations questions based on your specific gown to put your mind at ease.

What is the difference between a designer spotlight and a sample sale?
A designer spotlight is an exclusive event that allows you to get a sneak peek of a designer’s newest collection! For a limited time, typically only one or two weekends, our brides will be the first to try on and order brand new designer gowns that are not available anywhere else. Any #StrikingBride who finds their dress from the featured collection will receive special incentives!

A sample sale is a one day only event that offers deep discounts for lightly tried on showroom samples. This event is ideal for brides who are working within a tight budget, have a short engagement (under 6 months), or just love the satisfaction of snagging a designer gown for a steal. It’s as easy as find the gown, try it on, love it, and take it home THAT DAY!

How do I work with you to create a custom gown?
Want a black dress? Cool! How about something with a detachable skirt? Love it! Interested in rocking a floral print? We can make it happen. Give us a call to discuss your time frame, budget, and dress vision! We will schedule a consultation between you and our head designer, Abby, to bring your vision to life! We recommend doing your research online and trying on a few styles before choosing to go custom. Your dream dress might already be out there and waiting for you and if it is not, we will create it just for you! We only take a limited number of custom orders a year, so book early! For more information or questions on the process, please email abby@strikebridalbar.com.

Where did the name Strike Bridal Bar come from anyways?
Strike is a play off of our owner, Abby’s, family surname name, Streicher (pronounced striker). She likes to think she got her passion for sewing from her Grandmother, Dottie Streicher, who she unfortunately never got the chance to meet. Abby always loved the name and chose to incorporate it into the business as a way to honor her grandmother and her family. We also loved the play on words to create our #StrikingBrides, who are bold and not afraid to stand out.
